
A tragic incident left two individuals severely injured in Cleveland County when both caught on fire yesterday afternoon. According to the KFOR, the fire occurred near 156th Avenue SE and SE 149th Street, after a man carrying a gas can outside his residence was suddenly engulfed in flames, subsequently setting his wife on fire when she attempted to come to his aid.
The Noble Fire Department was swift in their response to the scene, as first responders rushed to the location identified as near 156th Avenue SE and Post Oak Road the couple whom had suffered serious injuries in the blaze, were in critical need of medical treatment. Information from the News9 indicates both were transported by MedFlight to a hospital, however, the current status of their health remains undisclosed.
There is an ongoing investigation into how the incident occurred, with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office looking into the details which led up to the harrowing event. "A preliminary investigation suggests a man was carrying a gas can outside of his residence when the gasoline ignited and set him on fire," said the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, as noted by KFOR.
