Collierville residents have a prime opportunity to contribute to environmental wellness while clearing out their homes this upcoming weekend. The Collierville Environmental Commission is hosting Recycle Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., where folks can bring a range of items for recycling and donation. The event, set in the parking lot of Habitat for Humanity ReStore located at 920 West Poplar Avenue, teams up with Omega Recycling Solutions to ensure that your discarded items find new life instead of ending up in the landfill.

In a recent release from the City of Collierville's official website, modern electronics—including desktops, laptops, and computer accessories—are allowed. However, retro tech from the 1990s, such as CRT monitors and bulky televisions, is not permitted. Routers and cell phones are also accepted, provided they don’t resemble older, outdated models.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donations of working kitchen appliances, doors, and countertops, as long as they are from 2015 or later. Mattresses, however, are not accepted. Other items on the no-drop list include exercise equipment and children's toys. Donors are advised to review the guidelines before bringing items in.
