The City of Dallas is all set to host a ceremonial affair, celebrating the appointment of the new chiefs of Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas Police Departments. While Dallas Fire-Rescue Chief Justin Ball and Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux have officially been sworn into office on April 23, the upcoming event is an opportunity for the city to mark the occasion publicly with a formal Joint Swearing-In.
As reported, the ceremony is scheduled for May 5 at Concord Church, located at 6808 Pastor Bailey Drive. The event is expected to start at 6 p.m., following the doors opening at 5 p.m. Media planning to cover the event must check in by 3:00 p.m., and they have been instructed to set up in a designated area where they can capture the event's proceedings without obstruction.
The City of Dallas has confirmed that Concord Church will provide a pool feed for NBC 5, which will be responsible for sharing the footage with other news outlets. Journalists are permitted to report from a specially designated area inside the sanctuary, while photographers will be assigned a specific spot from which to film or take photographs throughout the ceremony.
A further facility has been made available post-ceremony; a media room inside the church will be open for news outlets to take in the pool feed and file stories from 3:00 p.m. In addition, an area near this media room will be set aside for capturing b-roll and photographs at the reception, which is to take place in the lobby immediately after the Joint Swearing-In concludes.
