In the spirit of a tradition over six decades old, Denton County is set to pay homage to its protectors, the fallen officers who've glimpsed mortality up close, as they upheld their vow to the community. The Denton County Sheriff's Office has extended an open invitation via social media to citizens for the observance of National Police Week, particularly Peace Officers Memorial Day, as President John F. Kennedy decreed in 1962.
The memorial service, slated for Wednesday, will gather residents and families at the Denton County Amphitheater and Memorial Park to mark this solemn occasion. The event, running from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, will embody a collective tribute to lives steeped in dedication, lives extinguished too soon.
Denton County Amphitheater and Memorial Park, situated at 1 Courthouse Drive, beckons the presence of those who feel inclined to delve into the stories of these heroes.
