A Doraville acupuncturist faces serious charges after being indicted by a DeKalb County Grand Jury. Dr. Meu Keon Kim, 70, from Norcross, was charged with four counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery and seven counts of Sexual Battery on Tuesday, stemming from allegations of sexual assault against multiple patients.
Authorities detailed that two female patients initially claimed they were inappropriately touched by Dr. Kim during sessions at his acupuncture clinic. Following their report, Kim was arrested on February 11, and more charges were added in March as additional alleged victims surfaced. As of now, seven victims are connected to the indictments and misdemeanors charges filed against Dr. Kim, who is currently held without bond in the DeKalb County Jail, according to the District Attorney's Office announcement.
The case against Kim is not closed, as the DA's office continues its investigation with the belief that more victims might still be unidentified. They encourage anyone with information or who believes they may have been victimized by Dr. Kim to come forward and contact the DA's Office tip line. “Doctors take an oath to act in the best interests of their patients and to do them no harm, however Dr. Kim is accused of doing the exact opposite,” expressed District Attorney Sherry Boston, as noted by the D.A.'s office.
For the public eye, redacted copies of the indictments and accusations can be requested through the DeKalb County Superior Court Clerk’s website. Kim's arraignment on the charges is set for July 25.
