The El Dorado County Community Action Council is seeking two new members to represent the needs of low-income families in the county, with a focus on housing, nutrition, and low-income programs. These volunteer positions provide input to the Board of Supervisors and the Health and Human Services Agency on services for people with financial need, according to the El Dorado County.

Rebecca Johnson, Program Coordinator with the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, is leading the call for applications to join the Council. “We’re looking for people who are committed to actively participating in the Council meetings and advancing the goals of the Council on behalf of low-income people,” she said. Individuals who represent the low-income community or agencies that work with low-income populations are encouraged to apply. The deadline to submit an application is July 28.

The Council advises on ways to support low-income residents in Placerville by working with local government, private organizations, and community members. Members meet monthly to discuss and plan strategies. The position is unpaid. For more information or to apply, contact Rebecca Johnson at (530) 621-6255 or [email protected], as reported by the El Dorado County.
