Over the weekend, El Paso Community College (EPCC) welcomed prospective students and their families to Tejano Day, an annual event designed to showcase the offerings of the college. This year, the spotlight was on the Transmountain Campus, as reported by EPCC News.

"This event is fun to coordinate because it allows each campus to open its doors to the public and showcase the achievements of the faculty, staff, and students," said Michael Talamantes, EPCC Director of Recruitment Services, as per EPCC News. The chosen campus was reportedly selected to highlight features such as its scenic location by the Franklin Mountains and its advanced facilities for Interior Design and Fashion Technology programs.

The event, held on Saturday, provided students with opportunities to explore career and technical programs, meet with community vendors and student resources, and learn about student organizations. Not only did attendees have the chance to speak with faculty, but they could also use on-site enrollment services to build their schedules for the summer and fall semesters.

"Tejano Day is a wonderful example of how the College comes together to support our community—especially our graduating seniors," said Dr. Carlos Amaya, EPCC Vice President of Student and Enrollment Services, as obtained by EPCC News, noting how staff from Student Services and First Year Experience were on hand to help students enroll. Additionally, faculty and various student clubs and organizations, alongside community partners, were providing valuable information and encouragement as students take their next steps into higher education, as recounted by EPCC News.

Open to all prospective students, the event catered specifically to those who missed Operation College Bound at their high schools, including homeschooled students. Attendees could partake in campus tours, special enrollment presentations, and a Resource Fair featuring services such as Admissions, Financial Aid, and Recruitment.
