A routine traffic check has led to a significant haul for El Paso police yesterday, with officers arresting 27-year-old Angel Marin for narcotics and a weapon violation. According to the El Paso Police Department, the incident took place in the vicinity of Arboleda and Pendale.
Officers on patrol spotted a vehicle driven by Marin committing what was described as a traffic violation. During the stop, police noticed an unholstered pistol and what appeared to be marijuana contained within a sandwich bag inside the vehicle. With suspicions raised, a K-9 unit was called to assist, vigorously alerting to the presence of narcotics.
This confirmation led to Marin's arrest for the unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of a substantial amount of marijuana, totaling over three pounds. Following the incident, Marin found himself booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. His bond and court dates remain undisclosed at this time.
