The pursuit of a young suspect accused of a serious crime concluded successfully this past Wednesday, as 21-year-old Ethan Johnston was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Meridian, Mississippi. Johnston was wanted for attempted second-degree murder in connection with a violent attack at an apartment complex in Knoxville that left a 20-year-old woman with severe injuries to her head and neck. According to the Knoxville Police Department, the incident occurred in the early hours of last Saturday.
The arrest unfolded aboard a Greyhound bus; the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force homed in on Johnston's location after receiving a tip-off through East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers, which hinted at the possibility of Johnston using the bus as his means of travel along the coast, following the trail, the law enforcement agents made their move and apprehended him without incident, as reported by the Knoxville Police Department.
