Starting today, drivers navigating the LA 48 (River Rd) in both the westbound and eastbound directions should anticipate delays due to roadwork. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced recurring alternating single lane closures necessary for drain cleaning and catch basin maintenance operations.
The roadwork is confined to the area between LA 49 (Williams Blvd) and I-310, affecting both left and right lanes intermittently during this period. These partial closures will occur from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day, Monday through Friday, until the expected end date of May 16, weather permitting.
DOTD urges drivers to be cautious and patient while moving through the work zones and to be mindful of the workers and equipment present. Flagging operations will be used to manage traffic through the single-lane closures, as is standard.
