A Florida man has been identified by Louisiana authorities as the pedestrian who died in a vehicle collision last month on the I-10 Twin Span. According to WDSU News, the St. Tammany Coroner's Office named the victim as 61-year-old Errol Douglas Cain of Tallahassee, Florida. The tragic incident took place on the stretch of road that connects New Orleans East to Slidell over Lake Pontchartrain.
The details surrounding Cain's death were scarce, however, the St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Christopher Tape has stated that the death was ruled as accidental. Information obtained by WGNO indicates that Cain was walking on the Twin Span when he was struck by a vehicle. Identifying Cain proved difficult, as matching fingerprints against national databases is a meticulous process, but undeniably essential.
The identification processes converged on a single truth, the untimely death of a man, far from home. In an agreement WWLTV confirms that Cain's identity was established through fingerprint analysis conducted with the help of a national database.
