Two Fort Pierce men face serious charges following a substantial seizure of narcotics and high-powered firearms. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office reported that a narcotics search was conducted at a residence on Skylark Drive, leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Jesus Pozos Pozos and 20-year-old Jordan Lewis. CBS12 News documented the items confiscated by detectives, which included a .556 caliber Diamondback rifle with scope and laser, a Draco-style AK-47, abundant ammunition, around half a kilogram of powdered cocaine, a batch of crack cocaine, marijuana, Xanax bars, Oxycodone pills, and drug paraphernalia.
The raid, executed in collaboration between SID detectives and the SWAT team, formed part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms. Additional charges were filed against Pozos for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Despite the straightforward facts of the bust, the incident illuminates the persistent challenges law enforcement faces in tackling the scourge of illegal drugs and firearms. "This operation demonstrates our firm commitment to removing dangerous drugs and illegal weapons from our community," Sheriff Richard Del Toro was quoted saying in a post made by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. He commended the teams involved for their dedication to public safety.
Both Pozos and Lewis are currently detained at the St. Lucie County Jail, where they await proceedings on their charges. Details about court dates or whether bail has been set for Pozos and Lewis have not been released.
