Fort Worth's residents can start planning for some cool relief as the warm Texas summer approaches with the opening of local pools and aquatic facilities during the Memorial Day weekend. Not just one, but two swimming pools plus a splash pad are gearing up to welcome visitors, as reported by the City of Fort Worth's official news release. The pools are set to operate during specific weekends leading up to their full summer season that stretches from June 10 through August 10, albeit taking a break on Mondays.
For those looking to make a splash, the Forest Park Pool, located at 2850 Park Place, boasts a 50-meter competition pool and a leisure pool, fresh from a $15 million renovation. Having celebrated its 103rd year, this is the city's oldest public pool. According to the city's announcement, entry fees have been established as $5 for swimmers aged 17 and under; $6 for those aged 18 and over, with a generous discount for senior citizens and the military, who can get in for $4.
Another option for beating the heat is the Marine Park Aquatic Center at 303 N.W. 20th St., which will be open from Tuesday to Sunday this summer season. The aquatic center's entrance fee matches that of the Forest Park Pool, providing consistency in pricing across the city's facilities. A no-cost alternative for families seeking to cool down is the Sycamore Spray Ground, at the Sycamore Community Center, with no entry fee and open seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, ensuring free fun throughout the summer.
In collaboration with the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth, the City is also offering access to the water park at the William M. McDonald YMCA. Although the specific dates and pricing for the 2025 season at 2701 Moresby St. are still to be announced, it's a promising addition to the city's summertime cooling-off offerings. Once available, details will surely be a splash among local Fort Worth families, providing another venue to escape the notorious Texas heat.
