A tragic incident unfolded on Route 9 in Framingham late Sunday evening when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, leading to fatal consequences. The Framingham Police Department reported to the scene at 1881 Worcester Rd around 10:25 pm, according to an official social media post from the department.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 41-year-old woman from Framingham who had been hit by a car. Paramedics performed lifesaving procedures at the scene, thereafter, the woman was transported to MetroWest Medical Center. She tragically passed away at the hospital later on. The driver involved in the incident fled the scene, but was subsequently located and identified as 44-year-old Stewart Anderson, also from Framingham.
Framingham Police have arrested Anderson and charged him with Leaving the Scene of an Accident-Causing Personal Injury/Death. The investigation, which remains active, is a collaborative effort involving Framingham Police, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
