Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento has announced that adoption fees for all dogs will be waived through on Sunday. The shelter continues to receive stray dogs on a daily basis and is encouraging adoptions. Information about the event has been shared on social media, according to the City of Sacramento.

Phillip Zimmerman, Animal Care Services Manager at Front Street, said community involvement is important for increasing animal adoptions. “Adopting an animal truly means giving an animal an opportunity to have a loving family,” he said. The shelter matches potential owners with suitable pets and provides support through adoption counselors. All adopted dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered, as reported by the City of Sacramento.

Zimmerman stated, "Those who are not ready to adopt at this time, can still make a difference by sharing this message with friends, family, or anyone considering a pet." The Front Street Animal Shelter is encouraging Sacramento residents to visit the shelter and view available dogs. A list of adoptable dogs is available on the shelter’s website, as stated by the City of Sacramento.
