According to a social media announcement from the Gatlinburg Police Department, utility crews will be taking over a portion of Glades Road this Thursday for part of the day. The work is scheduled to take place in the 1000 block, near where it intersects with Ogle Hills Road, and it is set for the hours between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
During this time, for folks driving through the Gatlinburg region, anticipation of delays would be wise. One lane will remain open, with flaggers on site to guide vehicles past the work area.
Keeping safety in mind, the police are asking everyone to keep their speeds down and remain vigilant for workers on the road. "Motorists are reminded to exercise caution within the work area and be mindful of workers present," says the Gatlinburg Police Department's post. So if you're making the drive through that section of Glades Road today, plan accordingly and leave a little early, if possible.
