The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) wrapped up its probe into possible vote tampering in Camilla's local elections. The inquiry, set in motion by South Georgia Circuit District Attorney Joseph K. Mulholland on December 2, 2024, took aim at the November 5 municipal vote, digging into allegations that sought to muddy the democratic waters, as per GBI.
After months of investigative work, the GBI has passed on its findings to the DA's office as of last Friday. Wrapped in the shroud of legal scrutiny, the investigative file now paves the way for potential charges. In an effort to push transparency, interested parties have been directed to reach out to the DA's office for specifics.
According to an official statement released by the GBI, "On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the District Attorney’s Office presented the case to a Mitchell County Grand Jury." For now, any new information will have to come from the District Attorney.
