The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently looking into a harrowing incident in Tattnall County that occurred over the weekend, involving a tragic case of what seems to be murder-suicide, as confirmed by a statement from the GBI.
Last Saturday, Tattnall County deputies were called to a residence on Baxter Durrence Road after receiving a 911 distress signal concerning shots being fired, when they arrived on scene, they discovered four deceased individuals; Veronica Quevedo Torres, Leslie Johana Marrufo Torres, Edilberto “Eddie” Marin-Torres, and Octavia Chihuahua Castro, who had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound confirming the suspicions of a murder-suicide scenario.
Along with the deceased, there were three survivors found unharmed at the location, including a six-month-old infant. The investigation, which was handed over to the GBI at the request of the local Sheriff’s Office is still underway, evidence is being collected and autopsies for the deceased will soon be conducted at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Pooler, which might offer more insight into the exact circumstances of this horrific event.
