Georgia has just made history as Sen. Brandon Beach steps down from the State Senate to move into a significant role at the national level. Appointed by President Donald J. Trump, Beach departs from his 13 years of service in local politics to assume the title of United States Treasurer, as reported by Senate Press. The announcement came today and marks the first time a Georgian will manage the financial responsibilities that come with overseeing the U.S. Mint and Fort Knox, among others.
In a statement provided by Senate Press, Sen. Beach expressed his readiness to bring "Georgia values to Washington" and his commitment to fiscal stewardship. During his tenure serving the 21st Senate District, Beach emphasized economic growth and pro-business initiatives, something he intends on perpetuating as he steps into his new office which advising the Treasury Secretary on matters of community development and economic infrastructure.
