
A Greensburg man named Linwood Eley II faces multiple charges after an altercation that began with a loose, aggressive dog escalated into violence, involving an adult victim and a juvenile. Eley, 46, has been charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment, and disorderly conduct, WPXI reported.
The incident unfolded when Greensburg police responded to a call on South Hamilton Street concerning the dog, upon arriving they learned a neighbor had pepper-sprayed the animal, inadvertently hitting a juvenile in the process, after the police came to the scene, they observed an ongoing physical fight in a yard on West Newton Street, CBS Pittsburgh has noted.
During the confrontation, witnesses described Eley sitting atop the other man's head, striking him repeatedly in the face and head, this violent episode was reportedly sparked by the victim's decision to pepper spray the dog which witnesses pointed out nearly bit someone, Eley did not only confront the adult victim, but also struck a juvenile on the cheek amidst the ruckus, this according to Triblive. The man, found with a bloodied face and a contusion below his eye, eventually fainted and became unresponsive, necessitating medical attention.
Adding to the severity of the situation, Eley reportedly threatened to set ablaze the victim's home and issued threats against the officers on scene, saying he would "slaughter" them, multiple officers were required to subdue and detain Eley, now held on $45,000 bail at Westmoreland County Prison, his preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 22 with no attorney listed on his court records as of the time of reporting. Both the unidentified man and the juvenile received hospital treatment following the altercation; details of their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
