A seemingly benign discovery behind a Bell's, Tennessee home has sparked an ongoing investigation by local law enforcement. The Crockett County Sheriff's Office reported that a homeowner found a Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC) maximum security uniform in a shed on their property, as Action News 5 first reported. Upon discovery, deputies responded to the call and began an immediate investigation. The uniform was confirmed not to be from the Crockett County Jail, and there have been no known escapes from TDOC custody.
While this government-issued garb poses numerous questions, the Crockett County Sheriff's Department has reassured the public that there is no threat to community safety. "Our investigation is ongoing, and we are actively working to determine how the inmate uniform came to be at this location," the CCSD conveyed in an update covered by FOX13 Memphis. Residents have been asked to remain vigilant and to report any pertinent information that might aid deputies in solving this mystery.
