Commuters in the area will need to scout alternate routes as a significant road closure is set to take place starting early next month. Ehret Road will be out of commission between Broas Drive and Weatherly Place, commencing from the first part of the day on Monday, June 2, until the mid-afternoon of July 18. This upcoming inconvenience is attributed to a necessary overhaul of the local infrastructure.
According to a statement from the Jefferson Parish website, the closure will allow workers to thoroughly reconstruct a lift station and install a new force main. Motorists will have to temporarily adjust as detour signs will guide them around the construction zone. Parish officials advise travelers to account for extra time in their commutes and to remain alert while navigating the detour paths.
While the reconstruction work is slated to conclude by July 18, this projection is, as always, at the mercy of the elements. The completion date is dependant on the weather permitting the work to proceed as scheduled, officials noted. Residents and frequent users of Ehret Road are encouraged to stay informed to possibly adjust to further continue following updates if inclement weather extends the project's timeline.
