Kingsport Area Transit Service (KATS) is offering a half-off deal on Dial-A-Ride ticket books, a service intended to aid those with medical conditions, seniors, and workers residing within the city's bounds. According to an announcement on the city's official website, for the week starting May 12, these ticket books will be sold for $12, containing 24 tickets each, a significant reduction from their regular price.
The Dial-A-Ride service is known for its commitment to providing an affordable, secure, and efficient transportation option to its users. Slightly leveraging the week dedicated to appreciating and acknowledging the country’s transportation infrastructure, KATS is not just rewarding its current patrons but is also reaching out to potential new clients who might greatly benefit from this service. "We want to thank our current Dial-A-Ride customers through this promotion, as well as attract new riders who can benefit greatly from the service," said Transit Director Chris Campbell in a statement obtained by Kingsport's official website.
Ticket books can be purchased at the KATS downtown terminal, where payments are accepted via cash, check, or card, as well as directly from the Dial-A-Ride drivers, although the latter only accept cash and checks.
As a reminder for passengers who wish to take advantage of this economical offer, these half-priced ticket books can be bought starting next Monday, and it should be noted that drivers will not carry cash and cannot make change.
