The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) has released an image and issued a call for assistance to the public in identifying a man allegedly involved in a recent assault. According to their social media post, the suspect is believed to have attacked a 20-year-old woman at the Union Knoxville apartments on Cumberland Avenue during the early morning of May 24.
The female victim suffered significant facial injuries and received treatment at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. The details of her condition have not been disclosed to maintain her privacy. The suspect, whom the police say may go by the first name Jackson, remains unidentified as law enforcement continues their investigation into the incident; they are urging anyone who might recognize him or have any relevant information to come forward.
Recognizing the importance of community involvement in such cases, the KPD has facilitated a way for individuals to provide information anonymously. The department is collaborating with the East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers, providing a hotline at 865-215-7165, where tipsters can share details without revealing their identity, and if the information leads to an arrest, there might be eligibility for a cash reward.
