The Hawai‘i Police Department is hosting a series of "Coffee With a Cop" events in Kona, Waimea, and Kapaʻau this month. The events provide a casual setting for community members to meet with police officers, encouraging open conversation, according to the Hawai‘i Police Department.
Six informal community meetings are scheduled across west Hawai‘i this month. One meeting is set for May 19 at the Rainbow Café in Kapaʻau, with additional sessions held throughout the month from Kona to Waimea. The events provide opportunities for group and individual discussions with police officers over coffee, as reported by the Hawai‘i Police Department.
“Coffee with a Cop” events will be held at Burger King in Waimea and Kona Coffee & Tea in Kailua-Kona. Residents can attend and speak with officers in an informal setting.
