Upcoming infrastructure work is set to disrupt traffic along a stretch of LA 77 in Iberville Parish, as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced lane closures to facilitate the replacement of power poles. Starting on Wednesday, May 28, until Thursday, June 5, drivers navigating the area from the 800 feet south of Dewey Drive to the intersection of Dickenson Street should expect alternating north and southbound lane closures from 6 AM to 6 PM daily.
According to the DOTD's announcement, the closures are essential for the power pole replacements on both the west and east side of LA 77. The DOTD has advised that one lane will close at a time depending on the specific location of the pole being worked on. Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience through the construction period and to remain vigilant for the safety of the crews present.
While the department recognizes the inconvenience posed by such interruptions, these proactive measures are in place to ensure the longevity and safety of local infrastructure and to better serve the community in the long-term.
