Her trajectory has been marked by a succession of promotions: a return to Macon SP as a Counselor in 2010, where she later rose to Chief Counselor and then Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment.

Before her latest appointment, McKenzie served as a Unit Manager at Central State Prison since 2023. Her educational accolades include a Bachelor’s degree from Fort Valley State University and a Master’s from the University of Phoenix. McKenzie is also a certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor and has undergone extensive departmental training, as revealed by the Georgia Department of Corrections. Her certifications and trainings range include, Basic Correctional Officer Training, the Addiction Certification Program, and specialized training for her new role as Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment.
