For those of you planning to cruise through Colerain Avenue next week, it's time to adjust your schedules and prepare to tap those brakes. According to a bulletin from the Ohio Department of Transportation, obtained by ODOT, lane restrictions are set to hit U.S. 27 (Colerain Avenue) in Groesbeck for some much-needed signal work.
On June 5, a stretch of the pavement will morph into a symphony of cones and workers, as crews get down to business on the traffic signal at the entrance to Crossing of Colerain, south side of SR 126 East's welcoming arms. For those trying to navigate the northbound direction, the right lane will shut down from the early hours of 9 a.m. sharp until the noontime crowd stirs, so plan to possibly detour your morning commute to avoid getting caught in the slowdown.
Maintaining the flow of traffic, with safety at the forefront, is no small feat. Hence, maintenance crews will be out there, guiding vehicles with the steadiness of sentries. While the concrete dance between shopping errands and workday commutes continues, access to the Crossing of Colerain won't skip a beat—it remains open for business.
The Ohio Department of Transportation is throwing a serious flag of caution to the wind for drivers: "To help ensure the safety of the workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed, and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone." Consider this the perfect opportunity to exercise a bit of patience, perhaps listen to that podcast episode you've been putting off, and importantly, to support local labor doing its part to keep the city's arteries smoothly flowing. Your cooperation and attention can, quite literally, save lives.
So buckle up, drive safely, and keep an eagle eye on those traffic updates—next Thursday, Colerain Avenue is going to need all of us to play it cool behind the wheel.
