The Las Cruces Public Libraries are diving into the vibrancy of the season with their "Color Our World" Summer Reading Program, starting June 1 and running through July 13. In a move to splash the summer days with more than just the usual heat, participants of all ages are invited to find solace and inspiration among the pages of their favorite books.
The program will officially kick off with a community party on Saturday, June 7, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, located at 200 E. Picacho Ave. The event, a collaboration with the Friends of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, promises to be a family-friendly affair with therapy dogs, pictures with Bluey the Dog, brought to you by E-Mazing Characters and Rentals, and several community partners joining in on the fun.
"Color Our World" isn't just a name; it's the core of the program. With a focus on art and colors, the free initiative encourages readers to immerse themselves in literature and rewards them with prizes upon completion. According to the City of Las Cruces, eager readers can start redeeming their prizes as early as June 8, with the opportunity extending through the end of July.
