Attention all board game enthusiasts in Las Cruces: your Sunday afternoons are about to get a lot more strategic and social. Las Cruces Public Libraries has just announced a monthly Board Game Day, which will kick off this May 18 at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.
Running between 1-4:30 p.m., this event provides a perfect chance for community members to gather, compete, and playfully challenge one another's wits. According to the City of Las Cruces, the inaugural Board Game Day is just the first of many, scheduled to be held every third Sunday of the month at the library located at 200 E. Picacho Ave.
Whether you're a die-hard fan of classic board games or looking to dive into some newer titles, the library will have a variety of games available for participants. Attendees are also welcome to bring their personal favorites to share with others.
And if you're thinking of joining but worried about accessibility, worry not. "Those who require special accommodations for a disability to participate in this event are encouraged to call the library," the announcement states, ensuring the event is inclusive for all interested parties. For questions or more information, librarian Deanna Duffy is available at (575) 528-4005 or [email protected], and accommodations can be arranged by contacting the library at (575) 528-4102, TTY 711, with a minimum of 48 hours' notice.
