The Livermore Police's Criminal Investigations Bureau, refusing to let the trail go cold, was able to track down the suspect's vehicle in San Jose. With backup from the San Jose Police, they executed a search warrant at a nearby residence. Their efforts were met with the recovery of the victim's backpack and her work badge, credit cards, wallet, and driver's license. The search also uncovered a cache of credit cards, which authorities believe likely to have been pilfered in other vehicle burglaries across various locations.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Kennith Robson from Modesto, is no stranger to the law, with a rap sheet replete with theft and vehicle burglary offenses. Robson was arrested and charged with auto burglary and the fraudulent use of credit cards, bringing at least a temporary halt to his supposed spree. All the details and developments in the case are now sitting on the desk of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, awaiting the formal pressing of charges.
