
A 55-year-old man was found dead Friday night in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, leading to a homicide investigation, according to Essex County authorities. The man was discovered at a residence on Lookout Terrace, and investigators reported signs of apparent trauma. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, as NBC Boston reported.
Police responded to a 911 call and confirmed the man was deceased at the scene, as noted in a Boston 25 News report.
A joint statement from Essex District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lynnfield Police Chief Nick Secatore stated there is no known threat to the public, according to WHDH.
The investigation is being conducted by the Lynnfield Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Further details about the incident have not been released.
