Macomb County is encouraging residents to join the Adopt-A-County Road program, which invites individuals, families, and organizations to help clean local roads twice a year. According to the Macomb County website, the initiative, led by the Macomb County Department of Roads (MCDR), provides safety vests and trash bags for participants, though large item disposal remains the responsibility of each group.
The program has been active for more than 20 years and uses a simple three-step process to adopt a road section. There is no cost to join, and groups are recognized with roadside signs, a spot on an interactive map, and inclusion on the program’s website.
All necessary materials for cleanup are supplied by MCDR. Applications can be submitted online at macombgov.org/adopt-county-road. Additional details and assistance are available by emailing [email protected] or calling 586-463-8671.
