A vehicle pursuit by authorities resulted in the arrest of a wanted individual last week. According to a social media post from the Madisonville Police Department, a white Chevrolet truck was spotted on Highway 411 at Raper Road by Officer Colby Eaton, who recognized the driver as a wanted male subject.
During the incident, which unfolded on the afternoon of May 1st, the driver, later identified as Christopher Ryan Mclemore, was seen using a cell phone while driving—an offense in and of itself. Refusing to stop after Officer Eaton activated his emergency lights and siren, Mclemore led the police on a brief chase down Niles Ferry Road, forcing the officer to maneuver around the truck and block its path at the ORNL Federal Credit Union, where the vehicle stubbornly continued, eventually colliding with Eaton's patrol car.
Following the conclusion of what was described as a "brief vehicle pursuit" by the Madisonville Police Department, Mclemore was arrested. Found in the truck were several hypodermic needles, corroborating the suspected link to drug paraphernalia. Mclemore now faces multiple charges, including out-of-county theft, felony evading, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and violating the hands-free law, the department detailed in their statement.
