Heads up, Plymouth drivers: a key segment of Fernbrook Lane N. is shutting down for a stretch. Starting this Monday, May 19, the section from Harbor Lane N. to 34th Avenue N. will be off-limits to through traffic in both directions. The City of Plymouth has announced that the closure is expected to last about two weeks, with the current plan to reopen the roadway on Tuesday, June 3, but of course that's dependent on the weather playing nice and construction staying on track.
The shutdown is to make way for underground utility work that's part and parcel of the adjacent residential development taking place at the crossroads of Harbor and Fernbrook lanes. There's a detour all mapped out for you along Harbor Lane N. to 34th Avenue N. As a heads up, advanced warning signage went up earlier this week to give everyone a fair shake at planning their alternate routes.
The City of Plymouth's news post reminds motorists to "drive with caution and obey all posted traffic signs" while the work is carried out.
