
A man was left critically wounded following a shooting incident on Cherry Road in East Memphis this Tuesday morning, according to Memphis Police Department. As reported by Action News 5, the shooting took place around 11:45 a.m., and upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered an individual who claimed to have seen the victim get shot by an unidentified suspect.
The witness detailed how, after getting shot, the victim walked through a parking lot of an apartment complex while the assailant was last seen heading in a different direction. The Memphis authorities located the man with gunshot wounds and immediately transported him to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. Notably, there were shell casings discovered on the street at the intersection of Kimball Avenue and Cherry Road, indicating where part of the incident may have transpired as per, WREG.
No suspect has been detained in connection with the incident as of yet. An ongoing investigation into the shooting is being conducted by the MPD and authorities are scouring through video surveillance footage to identify the shooter. Described by police, the suspect is a man with twisted hair wearing a black jacket, light colored pants, and he appears to fall within the age range of 15 to 25 years old, details found in a report by Local Memphis.
