
A tragic incident unfolded on I-240 East near Millbranch Road last Saturday afternoon, leaving one man dead and a woman seriously injured following a vehicular crash. According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the occurrence was reported just after 4 p.m, according to Action News 5.
As stated by Action News 5, a 2008 Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound when the passenger allegedly grabbed the steering wheel, which caused the driver to quickly lose control. Resulting in the vehicle flipping off the roadway, it collided with a pole on the right passenger side panel, authorities said.
The aftermath of the crash saw both occupants, a man and a woman, transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition; however, the man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. FOX13 Memphis relayed information from a police report released Monday, which detailed these unfortunate events.
In a statement obtained by WV News, Memphis Police Department mentioned that on arrival at the scene at 4:57 p.m., officers discovered the car off-road, having struck a pole.
