A tragic event unfolded at Tellico Reservoir in Lenoir City, Tennessee, where the body of a man who drowned following a jet ski accident was recovered late Thursday night; this information was confirmed by both the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and local emergency services.
The incident initiated a response from emergency crews who arrived at the Tellico Dam Boat Ramp around 8 p.m., faced with the task of addressing the aftermath of a jet ski mishap that involved an adult and two juveniles, as per a statement obtained by WATE, the preliminary reports indicated that after one juvenile fell into the water, the adult, who was not wearing a life jacket, entered the water in an attempt to aid the child but tragically, did not resurface, while the juveniles had life jackets on and were secured.
The Loudon County Sheriff's Office, in a confirmation to WBIR, retold the sequence of events by detailing that the adult went into the water to help one of the kids who had fallen in without his life jacket on after a jet ski crash that occurred near the boat ramp's shoreline.
The recovery of the man's body was made just after midnight, as revealed by WVLT, closing a chapter on the search and rescue operation.
