A man is presently hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting incident in North Memphis. As reported by Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) stated that the shooting took place last night at the intersection of Vollintine Avenue and Speed Street. The call initially came in at 6:09 p.m.
The victim was found with severe gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to Regional One Hospital. Local Memphis notes that officers responded to the 1300 block of Vollintine Avenue around the same time that evening, indicating proximity to the scene where the man was shortly after discovered.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting at this time. The incident remains under active investigation, and the MPD has not yet released details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or any potential suspects.
