A man was reportedly stabbed outside a Five Guys restaurant in Boston's Downtown Crossing yesterday afternoon, according to Boston police. The incident occurred at 58 Summer St. and was reported at approximately 2:23 p.m., The Boston Globe disclosed. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, suffered injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening and was promptly taken to a local hospital.
No arrests have followed the incident yet as the investigation continues, as per Boston Police Officer Michael Torigian. This stabbing happens a day after Boston Police warned about a surge in robberies, particularly those targeting food delivery drivers. Local communities such as Mattapan and Hyde Park have voiced their concerns regarding the safety of these workers. In a separate report by NBC Boston, a witness identified as José Luis Perales described the victim as a delivery driver. "He was stabbed to rob him, or because of some problems he was having, and they closed the street," José Luis Perales revealed in an interview with Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra. "The police arrived and, thank God, they took him away," he added, explaining the scene and immediate response to the incident.
The Boston Police have not confirmed whether the victim was indeed a delivery driver or if the stabbing was related to the recent string of robberies mentioned. As the law enforcement digs deeper into this case, no information has been made available about any suspects or leads.
