
A man in Florida City sustained multiple gunshot wounds today. As reported by police and cited by Local 10, the shooting triggered a gunshot detection alert around 1 a.m. near the 1300 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue. Initially, the reports came through as the victim was able to run home after the violent encounter. Responding officers converged on the scene simultaneously as they were notified of the shooting in the vicinity.
Upon arrival, police found the victim with wounds primarily to his upper body. The man stayed awake and alert despite his injuries. He was flown to Jackson South Trauma Center, where he is now in stable condition. This was a statement obtained by Local 10 from authorities.
