The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Manchester Police Department are on a manhunt for Kimani Copeland, a suspect implicated in a recent homicide. Copeland faces charges of aggravated assault and murder following an incident that claimed the life of 29-year-old Shawn Jackson, Jr. of Fayetteville, GA. The fatal event unfolded last Wednesday.
According to the GBI's statement, the shooting occurred around midnight on Maple Street, where a disagreement between two individuals escalated tragically in front of a Manchester home. Officers responding to the call found Jackson Jr. had suffered gunshot wounds, his death pronounced at the scene, the result of an argument turned deadly.
As the investigation presses forward, law enforcement is turning to the public for assistance in locating Copeland. Individuals with any information pertaining to the case or Copeland's whereabouts are strongly encouraged to step forward and contact authorities. Upon conclusion of the investigation, the case file will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office of the Coweta Judicial Circuit for prosecution.
