The Knoxville Police Department is actively conducting a search for a man accused of assaulting a woman at an apartment complex near the University of Tennessee campus. The incident, which occurred early Saturday morning at Union Knoxville on Cumberland Avenue, left a 20-year-old woman with "significant injuries" to her face, WVLT reported.
Authorities have released an image of the suspect, who is currently only identified by the possible first name "Jackson." The Knoxville Police Department is urging the community to assist in identifying the man and to swiftly come forward with any information that may lead to his apprehension. Citizens with knowledge of the suspect can contact the East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously and may be eligible to receive a cash reward, as stated by WBIR.
The victim of the assault was transported to East Tennessee Children's Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The Knoxville Police Department has not provided any update on her condition but emphasized the severity of the injuries sustained. KPD has disseminated another photo of the alleged suspect in hopes that it will aid in their ongoing investigation, according to the same WBIR article.
