Maple Grove's annual Tails & Ales promises a day of frolicking fun for both humans and their four-legged companions, and it's edging closer every minute, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Central Park. The City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government recently took to social media to spread the word about this pet-centric shindig, detailing a lineup of activities that include tail-wag-inducing features such as a plethora of adorable dogs, chances to adopt from local rescues, and free tennis balls for the first 250 attendees.
Not to be left out, the city's very own Maple Grove K9 Unit will strut their stuff with a live demo at 4 p.m., while pet owners can capture the memories at a photo booth armed with whimsical props. In what could be seen as a bid for both exercising and socializing, the crowd can tuck into numerous lawn games and, let's be real, what's an outdoor gathering without food trucks and drinks to wash down the excitement, oh, and don't forget live music to keep the vibes high.
Among the array of amusements, the City's announcement highlighted the Wags and Wiggles Walk at 3 p.m., a procession to support the PUPS Facility in Maple Grove. Those looking to participate can fetch more information and sign up at their fundraising walk page.
The whole affair is a joint effort coordinated by Maple Grove Parks and Recreation, The Lookout Bar and Grill, Maple Grove Lions, and Inspire & Flourish, creating an exemplar of community engagement where local pet businesses, rescues, and organizations come together, which, if we're honest, is the backbone that keeps local communities like Maple Grove tightly-knit and, dare we say, pawsitively delightful.
