In the hustle of what has become a traditional rush, Action News 5 has revealed that predominant peak periods are anticipated on Thursday and Friday with over 10,000 passengers expected to grace the checkpoints each day; "We are expecting our peak days to be Thursday and Friday, with over 10,000 going through the checkpoint over that time, and stick to the two-hour rule if you’re coming through the morning," an airport spokesperson, Thomas, conveyed to Action News 5.
Efficiency is key for a smooth travel experience, and passengers are encouraged to check-in online and utilize airlines’ apps for the most current updates on flight times, as recommended by FOX13 Memphis. Travelers should prepare for possible full parking lots at MEM, with officials alerting that additional signage and parking staff will be mobilized to guide drivers to available spaces, those parking in the blue or yellow lots may consider dropping off luggage at the terminal prior to parking, advises FOX13 Memphis.
The looming REAL ID mandate compels travelers to double-check their documentation before heading to the airport, as those without compliant IDs will face additional screening, according to MEM.
