
Last Thursday, tensions escalated at a Family Dollar store on Lamar Avenue, leading to an incident that has now resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old man on charges of aggravated assault. According to a social media post by the Memphis Police Department, officers were called to the scene following a report of shots being fired.
The confrontation occurred at the discount retailer's location at 2920 Lamar Avenue and involved a dispute between a current and a former employee. The suspect, identified as Randall Pinson, reportedly was armed with a gun and engaged in an altercation with the other individual at the rear of the business. Security personnel intervened after observing Pinson begin to raise the weapon and subsequently fired at him as he attempted to flee from the premises.
Pinson escaped the immediate area but was later apprehended by law enforcement in the 2900 block of Semmes. Details surrounding the arrest indicate that no individuals were injured during the exchange. Pinson is now facing a charge of aggravated assault, a serious allegation reflective of the gravity of the incident in question.
