The Shelby County District Attorney's Office took to social media to update the public on the latest developments of a grave case. Antonio McClelland, a 52-year-old man, has been formally charged with first-degree murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. According to the Facebook post by the District Attorney's Office, the case has been bound over to the state after a preliminary hearing, with McClelland's bond being set at a substantial $5 million.
The charges stem from the events of March 6, 2025, when Jimmy L. Walker was discovered having been shot inside his North Trezevant Street apartment in the Frayser neighborhood. Walker's struggle ended at the hospital, succumbing to his injuries, as reported by the Memphis police.
McClelland's connection to this tragic outcome became clear just five days after the incident, when he was pinpointed as the suspect and subsequently arrested without complication by U.S. Marshals in Southaven, Mississippi.
