Miami Beach art scene is set to transform into a slice of Renaissance Italy this summer, as a 360-degree digital reproduction of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel arrives on Lincoln Road. Slated to run from tomorrow to July 12 at 1212 Lincoln Road, the Michelangelo Immersive promises to blend historic artwork with cutting-edge technology for an all-encompassing cultural experience.

According to Miami Beach's official announcement, Premier X Group is presenting this novel take on art appreciation, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a series of rooms filled with the likes of David and Pietà, bathed in dynamic lighting that crucially highlights the master's intricate craftsmanship. Embracing modern needs, the Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez, instigated a pop-up permit program legislation change to facilitate such events up to a full year.

The core attraction of this exhibition is a large-scale reproduction of the iconic Sistine Chapel ceiling, where pieces such as "The Last Judgment" will be projected in vivid high resolution. "Michelangelo’s timeless work reflects the intersection of faith and creativity," Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner shared, extolling the exhibit's congruence with Miami's diverse cultural tapestry. The event's timing aligns with the global focus on Rome due to Pope Leo XIV's recent election, adding to its contemporary relevance, as detailed by the City of Miami Beach.

Educational programs, storytelling sessions, and a themed retail boutique are part of the additional features designed to make Michelangelo's work more accessible, noted Johanna Guttmann of Premier Exhibitions Group, LLC. These components, aimed at complementing the immersive experience, invite both newcomers and aficionados of Michelangelo to explore his legacy.

As of yesterday, Miami Beach residents are eligible to receive a pair of complimentary tickets at the Customer Service Center, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. For those who prefer a guided tour, they can book slots for one of the five available tours, each accommodating up to 30 guests, by visiting the city's dedicated webpage. Tickets for the general public are priced at $25 for visitors 13 and up, and $17 for children 12 and under.
