Miami residents can expect a mixed bag of weather in the coming days with sunshine, thunderstorms, and a substantial amount of rain on the horizon. According to the latest forecast from National Weather Service, today will see a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, with partly sunny skies and a high near 85°F. However, this evening ramps up to a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms, mainly post-midnight.
The beginning of the week looks set to be tumultuous, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation on Monday, which includes likely showers and thunderstorms, then steady showers and possibly a thunderstorm post-2 pm. Come Monday night, the likelihood of showers and possibly a thunderstorm will continue. On Tuesday, showers and possibly another thunderstorm are expected, with the high hovering around 84°F and an 80 percent chance of precipitation.
Midweek brings some reprieve with only a 30 percent chance of showers on Wednesday, and then sunny weather prevails through to the weekend with highs escalating into the high 80s and reaching 90°F by Saturday. The evenings will generally stay mostly clear with lows in the low to mid-70s.
Alongside this general forecast, Local 10 News indicates that South Florida is bracing for "a high impact storm system" that will significantly alleviate drought conditions, arriving as early as Monday morning. The storm system is set to provide considerable rainfall amounts, with some areas projected to receive between 1-3 inches and others, even as much as 3-6 inches, potentially leading to pockets of flooding. Notably, the storms could be sporadic throughout the day and still linger into Tuesday.
The latter part of the week promises a turnaround, shifting towards dry and warm weather. As always, residents are advised to stay informed on the latest weather updates, particularly as Monday's storm system progresses, and heed any warnings or advice given by local authorities or weather services.
