Miami residents can look forward to a sunny and increasingly hot forecast this week, with no rain in sight to offer a respite from the rising heat. Saturday is predicted to have highs near 88°F with mostly sunny conditions, extending into a clear evening as temperatures dip to around 77°F. The serene weather continues into Sunday, promising sunny skies and a high near 87°F, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast looks even warmer in the coming days, the humidity, which sits at a sticky 85% in the early hours, will decrease somewhat as temperatures climb. The Local 10 Weather team notes "a stretch of 90° weather is on the way, starting this weekend." On Saturday, the "feels like" temperature is expected to reach a sizzling 98°F due to the high humidity and warm winds from the south-southeast.
Stepping into the work-week, residents will need to prepare for near-record heat. The National Weather Service projects a sunny Monday with a high near 88°F, followed closely by even hotter days, approaching the high 80s and low 90s. It's not until Thursday that a chance of showers and thunderstorms enters the forecast, along with a high near 92°F.
Looking towards the peak of the week, Local 10 Weather predicts that Thursday's heat may nearly tie or break Miami's record high of 95°F, with a high of 94°F forecasted. "Near record heat will continue to build throughout the work-week," they report. However, a change is on the horizon, "A front is set to move in Thursday and, drop temperatures back to reality by Friday." Regardless of the impending front, the message for Miami residents is clear: stay cool, stay hydrated, and don't forget the sunscreen in the days ahead.
